I haven't made a jar of this in some time but I'm thinking of making some tonight! It's a great exfoliating scrub that I like to use when I shower that has a witchy touch.
Seeing as I've been on a cleansing spree it only made sense that I started cleansing myself as well. It's honestly been a while and I'm slowly getting back into the flow of things!
Thought I would share the recipe below for anyone else that might want to make themselves a batch! I'll leave the basic recipe below. Feel free to chose your own additives to suit your needs! I personally like earthy smells so I tend to mix cedar and sage essential oils in mine! Sometimes I'll do lavender with lavender bits too.
CLEANSING SALT SCRUB
- 1 cup Sea Salt
- 1/4 cup Carrier Oil (i.e. Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, etc.)
- 10-20 drops of Essential Oil
- 1 tbsp add ins (i.e. dried lavender, chamomile, rose petals, etc.)
NOTE: Please research the essential oils you are using to ensure they are safe to use on your skin as some may cause irritation!
I usually whip it up and keep it in a jar. The jar in the photo, I believe I did a double batch. The jar is simply a recycled jar I had lying about! This is more of a body scrub as sea salt can be too rough on the face. If you are looking for a facial scrub, then a sugar scrub might be a better choice (or) switch from coarse sea salt to a fine sea salt and gently scrub face.
You'll notice the oil will start to settle at the bottom of the jar after it sits for a few days. Just give it a quick stir and you are good to go!
Have fun!
