Hi and Hello friends! I'm Blanka.
Since I'm Hungarian, I tend to look at our history a lot, which reveals that we have a pretty spiritual past. And, luckily for me and this week's challenge, we have deities for all the elements. Let's just jump into it!
This is not gonna be a long post!
Water
Deity(s):Water mother and Water father
Water mother is associated with drowning and floods. She rides a half-sunken log.
Water father is also not as calm. He hates people who pollute waters. In order to please him, throw a whole bread in the water.
Earth
Deity(s):Mother Earth
She was the one to tell Tengri "Create!" thus creating the whole Earth, and civilization. We also call her mother goddess. She's said to be the consort of Tengri, but different beliefs argue with that.
Fire
Deity(s): Fire mother and Fire father
In the ancient hungarian religion, fire honoring played a huge part. They used to make rituals around the fire, give offerings on the fire etc... This made the worship of these two deities really popular.
Air
Deity(s): Wind mother and Wind father
Wind mother lives in a cave, far from anyone. She sends storms and big winds from there, and sometimes she rides the winds. In some understandings, she's very old, but in some other she's very young.
Wind father rules the rain and wind. He has long hair, silver weapon, and rides horses made out of lightning.
