Usually about a week or so before a Sabbat I will begin to plan on what I'm going to do for it. This is mostly because my work schedule is so sporadic that it makes it hard to do everything I want when I want to do it. I'm a solitary practitioner so my rituals are pretty low key; a meal, a ritual, an offering, and that's pretty much it. But the whole month leading up to the holiday I try to do things that are beneficial with the energies that time of year.
So I have been focusing on cleaning my house, and more importantly, implementing better cleaning habits (and better habits in general). Tomorrow marks exactly 1 week until Imbolc, and happens to be my day off, so I plan on going grocery shopping for my Imbolc meal and doing a house cleansing.
What is a house cleansing? For those who are new or have never done anything like this, a house cleansing is when a person cleans the spiritual muck that has accumulated in their home. This tends to settle in the corners of rooms and under furniture. There are several ways to go about doing this: burn Sage, spray walls with salt water, chant/sing, drum, singing bowl, ringing bells, etc. all of these are effective ways to cleanse the home.
Here's my Home Cleansing Spell:
You will Need:
-Sage (incense stick or herb bundle)
*If you do not have sage, substitute with lemongrass or frankincense.
-Spray bottle filled with salt water
-an instrument (I use bells)
Start in the North or East side of a room and working clockwise, spread the smoke of the incense around the room. You can chant a Cleansing chant ("Born of water, cleansing, powerful, healing, changing. I am") or repeat a cleansing phrase ("I cleanse this home of all negativity"). When you have completed the circle, repeat with the bells/instrument. The sound will get into places the smoke can't. Finally, go to each wall and spray it with the salt water. This both cleanses the physical barriers of your home and puts up magickal protective barriers to keep out unwanted energies. If this is a little too much for you or you can't do some of the steps, doing only one of the steps combined with visualizations will work.
Blessed Be )O(

I love cooking but don't seem to ever find the time to really go all out so I make it a point to do so during the Sabbats :) I'll always have fun with it.
Love it :yellow_heart:
