Hello everyone! Siren here and I honestly thought I wasn’t going to write anything for this #deathofadecade really made me want to write this... so, here we go.
Dear me from 10 years ago,
You’re just a kid but life’s been really rough huh? I’m not going to lie to you... it’s not going to get easier for awhile.
You’re going to lose friends, question your sexuality, fall into mental illnesses that no one believes you have,get into car wrecks, gain... awful... coping mechanisms that you need to ditch as soon as possible.
But you’ll also find your first love, find that what you were taught isn’t the only way of thinking, find friends who stick by and you.
Let me give you some advice; that girl who you thought was going to be your bff? She’ll hurt you terribly, don’t go running back when she says she’s sorry.
Don’t you ever take those scissors to your skin.
It’s not weak to ask for help when you need it.
Medication isn’t as scary as everyone says it is.
Therapy doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
Question everything you’re being taught in school.
You’re going to find a world of mystery that makes you realize that you can be the stuff of legend. That’s right, you’re going to find that you can actually become a witch.
Don’t be scared of the future, it’s coming faster ever faster but it will flinch first and settle into the gentle present.
Chase your dreams and don’t be afraid,
