My practice is a small solitary one.
I have a small wall alter that In which I incorporate four of the five elements.

I use Salt as my representation of Earth, which is located at the top (North) of my alter.

My water is located at the back of my alter, representing ‘West’. I use moon charged rain water that I collect in a rain barrel. ‘Air’ is represented with an incense cone pulled towards the front of the alter, which faces East. I will place a candle, which represents ‘Fire’, on the left side of the alter which is South.

I invoke all of the elements, however water is special to me. The way you can use the elements can be for invoking or banishing.

As you may have seen from previous posts of mine, Nehalennia is my matron Goddess.

She is known for being a Goddess to Tradesmen and especially Mariners, who would pay homage to her upon their safe age home from the sea.

She is sometimes depicted with one foot on the prow of a boat and she has always been associated with the sea.

She has been with me my entire life as I have spent my life by the ocean. In fact, I was conceived while my parents were living in a boat.
Water, and the ocean has always been a special place for me.

Sometimes a place of great turbulence....

But mostly a place of peace and tranquility.

I frequently make beachside offerings to Nehalennia.

I also use moon charged water in my offerings and spell craft.
I hope this gives you a little insight into how I incorporate water into my rituals and I hope this gives you some ideas on how to try something new in yours!
