Sarah Smiles fic

Janet here, with another fic for the pfc!

It’s a fanfic based off of Sarah Smiles, because our theme this month was Vices and Virtues and that’s one of my favorite songs on the album.

It’s kinda fluffy, because I felt like most of my fics were dark, so I changed it up a bit!

Well let’s get into it!

The Story

Brendon Urie is a senior in high school, definitely not one of the popular kids, but he’s not a complete loser either. He’s a choir and band kid, and is quite popular among his crowd. Everyone tells him that he’s incredibly talented and that he’s gifted musically.

Brendon has a good group of friends, ive parents, good grades, a decent car, and quite a few colleges looking out for him. The one thing he doesn’t have is a girlfriend. It’s not that he can’t find a girlfriend, it’s that the girl he’s got his eyes on wont take the hint and notice that he’s dying for her. Sarah Orzechowski, one of the most beautiful and popular girls in the school, that is surprisingly still single. Brendon has had a major crush on her since freshman year ever since they met in his bio class and has been trying to work up the courage to ask her out.

With prom around the corner, Brendon knows he needs to be quick before some other boy sweeps the girl of his dreams of her feet and take her away from him.

Brendon being a musical kid, has come up with a promposal to get Sarah to go with him. Spending about a week or two working on a song, he’d written one with a good tune to go along with it. His plan was to propose before school the next day.

The next morning Brendon arrived at school and went straight to the senior courtyard, getting ready to set up some speakers and his mic for the big moment.

A few moments later, Sarah had walked in with her friends, laughing and talking amongst themselves.

Brendon clears his throat and begins to sing...

“Sarah smiles like Sarah doesn’t care,

She lives in her world so unaware,

Does she know that my destiny lies with her,

Sarah,

Oh Sarah,

Will you go to prom with me?”

Brendon eyes Sarah and her friends and notices her looking at him in shock. Her friends are whispering and giggling quietly, and all Brendon can hear is his heartbeat thundering in his ears.

After a few moments Sarah blinks and walks up to him. “Brendon, that was beautiful, did you write that yourself?”

Brendon can feel his cheeks changing colors as he respondes, “Yes, I-I wrote it for you.” He pauses “So? Will you go to prom with me Sarah?” Brendon looks at her hopefully, his eyes shining.

“I would love to, I’d like a chance to get to know you better, Brendon.” Grinning ear to ear, Brendon gave Sarah a peck on the cheek “I’ll see you later Sarah, first period is starting.” The bell rang and they went their separate ways, Brendon humming the tune of the song he’d written happily, knowing that he’d get to go out with the girl of his dreams.
