Air is an element of innovation, change, constant motion and power. As a 20 year Witch I've got quite a collection of correspondences and among them are definitions of Air. Included in this I've associated Air with destruction, facilitation, re-creation and confusion.

Why confusion? Because air moves in so many directions all at once, creates so much change and never stays consistent. Why is this awesome? Because constant change means constant improvement.

These aspects of Air apply to our witchcraft in almost every way. Just as fire, water, earth and spirit formulate our practice's base, ion, beliefs and intuition, air is the genesis of our development and perpetual self-education.

Air doesn't listen to anyone. You can try and push it around but ultimately it'll do what it wants and go where it desires. Witchcraft gives us the power to do the same thing! We do what we want, and at its core we are simply manipulating energy to manifest change. Air reminds us to keep pushing forward, go wherever we need and to facilitate constant change in our lives.

Correspondence: Destruction

Air erodes stone, creates cyclones and hurricanes. Air at high speeds tears down trees and throws things around. The destruction of air around the world is essential to our lives. This destruction leads to new life, and facilitates the creation of the unique.

Within our craft, reminding ourselves to symbolically "destroy" what we know, how we practice and what we believe leads us to explore new paths and ultimately broaden our horizons. We can never accept one solid practice as fact, nor can we generalize our practice into "right and wrong". To avoid limiting our potential, stepping out of our comfort zones and destroying expectations will allow us to grow. Our individuality will flourish when we accept this destruction into our lives and cease our need to hold onto the familiar.

Correspondence: Facilitation

Just as air moves water and nutrients through the world, air reminds us to go with the flow and push to get what we want. If something isn't right, use the influence of air to gust forward and change it. Air also reminds us to assist others. Witchcraft is a life of service, both to ourselves and others. Using our intuition we can provide emotional healing and life changing advice for others. Do not be afraid, as air would remind you that with any change you are always yourself. Air goes everywhere and changes constantly, yet never is it fragmented. Air will never become something else. Trust yourself, and make change. You are always yourself even through the changes and the turbulence. Air reminds you to love yourself. Even if you feel insignificant, you are capable of great feats and power, just like air!! :yellow_heart:

This is a short post, but I wanted it to give you some insight on air in a way some don't think of. Air is an amazing element to work within yourself and to include in your magical practice.

Be like the clouds or the smoke of incense; change constantly and move boldly into each new horizon.

Treat your craft the way you would treat yourself: nurture it, care for it, allow it room to grow and mature. Air teaches us that for witchcraft to survive, we must allow it to change. Air has no rules, and neither should magic!
