The 'Overdrive' Technique

The can boost the speed of specific parts of their body to inhuman levels, but excessive use will cause that part of the body to cramp, potentially disabling it for a time. Parts that are speed boosted generate electricity that interferes with muscle control and cursed technique control (the is immune these effects). The amount of electricity generated is proportional to how fast the parts are moving.

Without proper training, even marginal speed increases are more detrimental to the than beneficial. Expert use of this technique requires the to ration their body parts and minimize the amount of time that they are boosting their speed. Examples include boosting the speed of their arms when punching, or increase the speed of their legs while running.

The of this technique has two classifications for the levels of speed they use: Second Gear and Third Gear. Second Gear refers to speeds that they can use without fatiguing their muscles. Third Gear refers to speeds that heavily fatigue their muscles or is otherwise damaging to them.

As a rule of thumb, to deal substantial damage, the attack needs to be in Third Gear.

Static: The readies their body to instantly

This extension requires a cumbersome amount of concentration, but it can be done in quick burst when anticipating a move. If a Domain's guaranteed-hit is carried out by a living creature, this can act like a bootleg Falling Blossom Emotion.

Heat Lightning: The boosts their speed to

supersonic levels, and performs an attack that is unreactable until it hits. The attack itself makes a far-travelling and loud sound when it lands, akin to thunder. The attack cannot be adjusted on the fly, leaving an opening for a counter-attack if the move was anticipated. The also incurs heavy fatigue to their entire body. From the target's perspective, the basically teleports to their position after vanishing briefly.

Maximum: Crown Flash

The speeds up their whole body to its absolute limit, causing them to glow blue and shimmer with electricity. Their immense speed essentially stops time for them; the amount of time that they can spend in this state without excessive damage to their body is 4 seconds. If the spends 10 seconds in this state, they will die of a heart attack. Those on the receiving end of this technique will only see a bright flash and crackle of lightning, followed by the aftermath of the 's actions. After using this technique, the cannot move their body for 1 minute; after 1 minute, they can move, but will be unable to use moves in Third Gear.

Domain Expansion: Divine Typhoon

By applying their Cursed Technique to a barrier, the creates a space where everything in the Domain, including the caster, is accelerated. The only thing not accelerated within the Domain is the one who was trapped in it. This allows the to access high speeds without restriction, as the barrier is the one taking the fatigue. Increasing the speed to the levels of Crown Flash would shatter the barrier, so the speed limit of the Domain is the speed used for Heat Lightning. Visually, it takes the appearance of a grassy field overtaken by typhoon-level winds. A good visual reference is the Field of Fate stage from Street Fighter.
