Hi everyone!
Hope all is well as per usual. :blue_heart:
Some of you may have noticed my increased love for the ocean and sea witchcraft lately, and I decided with that in mind, to share this!
I wasn’t happy with my Altar. It was getting dusty due to my workload and being unable to clean as much, there was candle wax and ash where it shouldn’t have been… I just wasn’t resonating with it anymore, and I wanted a change.
Naturally, Altars change over time to suit one practitioner’s needs, intuition and comfort. I felt it was my time to do so, and on a day where I decided to take a work break, I got to it! I love my new Altar evermore :blue_heart: :ocean: 🥺

I wanted a sea theme, while ensuring the Deities I work with and worship are still incorporated as they should be. The only thing remained unchanged(albeit dusted well) is the centrepiece!

The centrepiece holds symbols for the Deities I work with AND worship:
• Lady Nyx with the obsidian heart
• Lady Hekate with the key
• Lady Amphitrite with the teal-ish shell
What remains as well are the candles I have for Lady Nyx and Lady Hekate, and I added a pink candle of Lady Eos’ that was on my nightstand. I don’t pray to Lady Eos often, though I mainly come to Her for aid with rising in the morning.

Up above is one of my favourite parts of my Altar! I love how lightly coloured it is, how calming and pure. I suppose that’s due to the white representing the cleansing and purity I feel from the ocean, and the blue representing some of its colour. I love the bit of foliage I got as well - adds a nice touch of green and brown. 🥰

Moreover, I love THIS! This little compartment bag has an assortment of black, sea and pink salt. Naturally, salt can hold a firm place on a sea altar, just as it does within the ocean itself. I particularly love my jewellery which I strung onto it - a mermaid necklace, and a shark tooth necklace I got from a very special marine park while out with my future-marine-biologist childhood friend. Some may think “Why would you have a shark tooth necklace? Is it ethical?” And the answer would be yes! When I received it, it came with certification from a relevant organisation. Feel free to PM or drop a comment if you’d like more info. :blue_heart:

Ah! And this angel too. I realised I had them tucked back in their box and they had been there for a couple of months. I resonated with it though and found I was happy to display it, so there it stands. :sparkling_heart:
With that all noted, tending to your Altar can be hard sometimes. We all have busy lives, where responsibilities can overwhelm us and take up the time we’d like for spiritual and religious activity. Your Altar should ideally be a place of comfort for you, a space set apart from the hustle and bustle of modern life. I sometimes like to think of my Altar as an extension of myself: I deserve to take care of myself internally and externally. This statement allows me to clean my Altar, rearrange it and such without feeling it as a chore or tiring. I encourage you to apply this logic to yourself. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll get a spark of happiness out of it. :sparkles:
