This post is going to be all about air! The air signs, the air symbol, why I chose #AffectionateAir deities, and more!

🌫 Air Symbolism and Meaning 🌫

Each of the five elements have different characteristics and energy you can use in Magick. Air symbolizes the breath of life, and creation. Take the first breath of a newborn baby for example, it has taken its first breath of life and was given its creation. Air is connected to the mind, spirits and souls, and wisdom.

In Chinese systems, there isn’t actually a word for air. Instead, it’s read as ‘Qi’ which is the vital force of breath or spiritual flow.

Air colours: white, and yellow.

🌫 The Air Signs 🌫

The three air signs of the western zodiac are Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini. These signs are free flowing like the wind, they’re very unique and curious people. They have interesting perspectives and good ideas. People born under this sign have very strong emotions and are quite talkative.

The Air Signs have the wonderful gift of flexibility just like air itself. They can adapt to new trends quickly, and yet not be centrées down into once single place, they’re free flowing. Air signs are very aloof too.

Air-themed crystals: Aventurine, Citrine, Diamond, Moonstone, Labradite, Topaz. these can be helpful to air signs because they promote lucidity, clarity, and improving intuition.

Animals: anything that flys lol animals that fly are usually under the Air dominion. These creatures are bats, butterflies, owls, hawks, bees and more.

Plants: for plants think of ones that sway and move gently in the wind. Plants like this include Cedar, Anise, and Cedar. There’s also Lemon grass, Pansies, and Primroses, but only due to their smell.

🌫 Superstitions 🌫

- if the wind blows from the south on New Years, it brings prosperity

- don’t ever whistle on ships. Seriously don’t do it, it’s thought to taunt the air spirits and brings tempest force winds

- whistling in some places though was used to boost the strength of wind, I wouldn’t bet my luck on that though

- the southern wind brings rain

🌫 Deities 🌫

Aiolos - is the Greek deity and ruler of the winds he controls how strong the winds are

Hera - the Greek goddess of the air and the constellations

Izanami - Japanese goddess who originally was a sky deity but after she dies she becomes a god of death

Nut - Egyptian goddess of the sky and the heavens, cosmos and astronomy, depicted as a starred nude woman or a cow

🌫 why I chose air 🌫

I chose air because I am in fact an air sign! I’m an Aquarius. It felt right to go to the team that’s element was my signs. Traits are also line up with me so I thought that I would go to the team that has other people like me.

I also ire the air element itself, I like how it’s free and flowing. It’s gives life and sustains it, it sees and hears everything.

🌫 Divination 🌫

A kind of divination that uses air is called aeromancy. Aeromancy is the term people use for observing air omens and signs. This method of divination includes the colour, direction, and shape of clouds. Changes in the direction or behaviour of the wind.

For example, sound. Winds that arrive from East and South Barr good news, and a positive sign of good things. when you used to spit shapes in the clouds as a kid? That can be used too. In ancient time people did this and had specific interpretations for specific clouds. Look up some cloud interpretations and meanings.
